Agriculture Art

agriculture art
Why could the author of our Constitution understand the good things about open borders, but this has been lost?

“America was indebted to immigration for her settlement and prosperity. That part of America which had encouraged them most had advanced most rapidly in population, agriculture and the arts.”

James Madison.

Then again right afterward he said “Illegal is illegal”. Oh no wait…
Maxwell: no immigration law in the 1700s. (But then again, any reasonable person knew that already since the country had barely been founded, but anyway.)
OK fine, Britain had laws: but first real immigration law in the U.S. was in the 1800s.

And in that vein, America still welcomes millions of immigrants into her borders every year.

but just like in the 1700s they want everyone who comes to check in and get counted. Not sneak across the border, and disappear into the cities.

ADD:
There were laws in the 1700. England had them on her colonies, and the colonies had them on their respective territories. But then any reasonable person would realize that laws existed here before our country was founded.

They weren’t strict, they didn’t turn people away to my knowledge. They just wanted everyone accounted for, so they knew where to collect taxes.

You know…accounted for…because they didn’t want “undocumented immigrants” scamming the system.
